A bit about of Filipa

Filipa was born in Portugal and studied filmmaking and post production at Escola Tecnica de Imagem e Comunicação, ETIC (The Technical School of Image and Communication) in Lisbon. Before following her passion for film, she was a dedicated educator of Physical Education and Sports for over ten years.

After graduating , she worked as an intern for GTV Studios, a major production company involved in the creation of popular television series for Portuguese TV.

She found love and migrated to Australia in 2012, where she co-founded media company Latitude 33S, an online news channel dedicated to the Australian Portuguese community, in magazine-style episodes.

She has worked as an editor on several independent feature films: ‘Smash’ (2012, Rayon Productions) and ‘Wish for Tomorrow’ (2014, PN Imagination Productions).

In 2012, her short film, ‘Secrets of Tasmania’ was selected for the CineEco film festival in Portugal and when living in Sydney she edited several music videos for local artists Nicholas Summerfield and Jasmin Jones.

Throughout her career she has also had the opportunity to edit high-end corporate videos, interviews, music film clips, real estate videos, movie trailers, etc. She has also filmed modelling shoots, corporate and marketing videos and also interviews such as international Fado singer, Carminho, Masterchef contestant Christina Batista and film director Ruben Alves.

She is a freelancer and has been working with companies like Skyline Creative, a real estate marketing company, filming properties all over Sydney, Visual Domain, a marketing company, Cliff Ho Productions in Melbourne, and many others.

She started working for Rádio e Televisão de Portugal Internacional (RTP) for their show, ‘Hora dos Portugueses’ (Hour of the Portuguese). It is a daily program showcasing the Portuguese and their successes around the world and she works as their Australian correspondent; writing, producing, shooting and editing short interviews.

Her passion for photography and sound is also driving her towards new projects and new experiences.

Filipa is also a certified drone operator.
